The Fourth of July is almost here, which means that people everywhere will want to watch fireworks! If you’re in the Orlando area but aren’t headed to Walt Disney World, there are plenty of other choices.

One of the most popular fireworks displays in Central Florida will be held on July 3, not July 4. It’s called Red Hot & Boom. It takes place at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, which is probably about an hour outside of Walt Disney World if there’s no traffic. Expect traffic.

Red Hot & Boom is more than just fireworks. There’s plenty of live entertainment. The event runs from 4:00 until 11:00, with the actual fireworks at 9:30.

When I said that Red Hot & Boom is popular I wasn’t exaggerating. The City of Altamonte Springs is expecting at least 150,000 people. I heard one estimate of up to 250,000. There will be changes to the celebration in 2024 because of construction. It will still be held but it will be scaled back.

Red Hot & Boom is free, and there will be food for sale. Arrive as early as possible so that you won’t have a hard time finding parking. Be prepared to wait once the event is over. You might want to stay until 11:00, since Crane’s Roost will clear out after the fireworks.

Featured area fireworks include Walt Disney World, SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa, Sunset Walk, Red Hot & Boom, Fireworks at the Fountain, Fun Spot, and Celebration, Florida.
