Happily Ever After is returning!

Happily Ever After fans, I have the news that you’ve been waiting for! The fireworks spectacular will return to the Magic Kingdom on April 3! When it returns there will be added projections up and down Main Street, U.S.A. The final day for Disney Enchantment will be April 2.

Over at Epcot, there is also fireworks news. The final day for Harmonious will also be April 2. I’m a bit sad about this one. I know that the show didn’t resonate with a lot of fans, but I liked it more each time I saw it.

Epcot Forever

We know that a new nighttime show is coming to Epcot at some point, but it won’t be immediate. EPCOT Forever will return on April 3. The following is from Disney Parks Blog:

Similar to how it appeared in 2021, “EPCOT Forever” is the perfect offering while our Entertainment team preps the Lagoon, including a phased removal of fireworks platforms following the final “Harmonious” performance on April 2. A limited-time spectacle of lasers, lighting, special effects, and fireworks, “EPCOT Forever” returns with a collection of songs that offer both a trip down memory lane and a look toward the future.

There are two bits of information that I grabbed from that. First, the barges that so many people hate in World Showcase Lagoon will be removed. (I’m going to miss the Stargate, I often picture Jack O’Neill and the rest of SG-1 arriving and spending the day at Epcot. Sorry, I digress.) But I know that a lot of people hate the barges and will be glad that they’re gone.

The other thing I took from that paragraph is that there will be no kites in EPCOT Forever. The show had kites before the closure, but when fireworks finally returned they were gone. The part about “similar to how it appeared in 2021” tells me that there won’t be any kites.

Although I’m not a Disney Enchantment hater like so many people, I do think that Happily Ever After is a better show, and I’m excited to see the Main Street projections. I will miss Harmonious. I wish that the show could have been reworked to give it a more “Epcot” feel. There’s no word on what the new show at Epcot will be or when it will debut. When it happens, I’m sure that it will be incredible.
