Halloween 2024 Outside of Walt Disney World: Spooktacular at SeaWorld Orlando

One of the nice things about Central Florida in the last few months of the year is that there is plenty to do! You probably already know about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Halloween Horror Nights. There are plenty of other Halloween events throughout the area as well. Some are for thrill fans, others are for those who like things a little bit calmer.

SeaWorld Orlando is home to two different Halloween events. The scary one is Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando. That’s a separate ticketed event. If you’re looking for Halloween fun for the whole family, Spooktacular is what you want! It runs on select days (mostly weekends) through November 3, and it’s included with your SeaWorld Orlando Admission! As always with SeaWorld Orlando, buy your tickets online for the lowest price.

The ultimate Halloween event for families and children of all ages, Spooktacular, returns to SeaWorld Orlando on August 31. This daytime event is full of immersive festivities from surprises to candy, costumes and more. From trick-or-treating to a dance party with Sesame Street friends, kids will love participating in all the spirited activities. Families will be able to experience various immersive and engaging activities such as the Pumpkin Storyteller and Meet-a-Mermaid, making Spooktacular the perfect event to help everyone embrace the Halloween spirit.

This daytime event takes place every Saturday and Sunday starting August 31, and includes Labor Day on Monday, September 2. The event then extends to Friday through Sunday starting October 11 through November 3. SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular is included with park admission.

Exciting Entertainment and Family-Friendly Fall Activities

The perfect spooky fall day of Halloween excitement for the whole family is found at SeaWorld Orlando’s Spooktacular. This year’s event is packed with enchanting experiences and charming activities that everyone will love!

SeaWorld Spooktacular’s Halloween Activities include:

  • ALL-NEW Shamu & Crew Spooktacular Breakfast: Guests can kick off their day at SeaFire Grill with Shamu & Crew’s Spooktacular Breakfast, where they’ll have the chance to get photos, hugs, and autographs from the beloved Shamu & Crew characters. Please note this exclusive experience comes with an additional cost.
  • ALL-NEW Harvest Maze: Perfect for guests of all ages, the maze offers a fun and easy way to enjoy the magic of fall. Guests will wander through the twists and turns making unforgettable memories, an ideal autumn adventure for the whole family!
  • REIMAGINED Pumpkin Garden and Storyteller: While meandering through the Pumpkin Garden, guests can see just how many friendly pumpkin fish they spot. Additionally, guests can join an interactive storytelling followed by the ALL-NEW Bubble Dance Party, a Halloween party full of floating fun, giggles, and lots of Spooktacular Pals!
  • Trick-or-Treat Candy Trail: Children can dress up in their favorite costumes and embark on a trick-or-treat adventure around the park, stopping at 12 stations featuring a variety of sweets and snacks. To join in on the fun, guests can purchase a SeaWorld trick-or-treat bag, available at the entrance of the trick-or-treat trail.
  • Sesame Street Halloween Parade: The show-stopping parade allows families to dance and play along with Elmo and friends who have dressed up for Halloween and enjoy a colorful musical experience.
  • Scarecrow Halloween Dance Party: Families can dance and bust a move at the Scarecrow Halloween Dance Party taking place at the Journey to Atlantis Plaza. DJs will be playing fun tunes while scarecrows show off their moves during select performance times throughout the day.
  • Halloween Kids Crafts: On the candy path, kids can enjoy some Halloween coloring and crafts that are included with park admission.
  • Spooktacular Scavenger Hunt: With the purchase of the special map at Coconut Bay Trader’s, families can explore the park and track down SeaWorld’s colorful Halloween friends. Guests can redeem the completed map at Coconut Bay Trader’s for a unique prize.
  • Costume Contest: On Fridays throughout October, guests can showcase their costume skills at Journey to Atlantis Plaza for a chance to win exciting prizes.
  • Meet-a-Mermaid: As participants stroll through the trick-or-treat trail, they will be able to meet a charming mermaid and take memorable pictures.
  • Halloween Cookie Decorating: During select times on Sesame Street Land during Spooktacular, kids can customize fun fall-inspired cookies with a special guest. Cookie decorating kits are available for purchase.
  • Halloween Storytime with Big Bird: During scheduled times at Big Bird’s nest, guests can gather around to hear some of his favorite Halloween tales.

Those with food allergies are encouraged to take part in the Teal Pumpkin Program. These guests can collect teal tokens at candy stations in lieu of those treats and redeem the tokens for allergy-friendly items at Coconut Bay Traders in the Key West area of the park.

Rules for Halloween Costumes

All guests are welcome to dress up in Halloween costumes. Guests who are ages 13 and older may not wear costume masks or hoods, and all costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park. In addition, face painting is not permitted on any guest unless it is done by park artists.

Howl-O-Scream Returns to Take Over the Night

When the moon begins to rise, SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Scream emerges once again to promise an experience where fear meets fantasy in an event where guests’ worst nightmares lurk around every corner. From eternal games with the highest of stakes to haunted halls where the living and dead collide, experience the new bone-chilling tapestries of horror and reimagined scares. Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando is intended for mature audiences and takes screams to the extreme. This year’s event features five haunted houses and seven scare zones along with several bars, taunting haunts and shows. The hair-raising activities continue as guests embark on heart racing attractions such as Mako, Infinity Falls, Pipeline and Ice Breaker.  SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Scream will take place on select dates from September 6 – November 2, 2024.
