See the planet in a whole new way!Earth Illuminated is a brand new attraction on International Drive in Orlando. My daughter and I were invited to come out and experience it for the Media Night on November 6. We had a great time, I don’t think there’s another experience around that’s close to this!
From the preshowEarth Illuminated is hard to describe. I talked with one of the owners, and she said it’s about “opening your eyes to things that are right in front of you.” That’s a great way to say it, because it highlights things all around us that we may not notice most days.
EarthBefore you enter the actual attraction, you’ll watch a short preshow. You, the viewer, will board the Starship Regenesis, as part of Mission New Dawn, “a quest for hope and a new humanity”. You’ll then enter a brand new world. Follow the footsteps, and you’ll travel through over 40 different scenes. You’ll start in the clouds, go down the mountains, even down into the sea. The visuals are stunning. The music played throughout is the perfect accompaniment.
MountainsAlong the way, there are plaques with inscriptions on them. Some have facts that you may not know, while others are more inspirational. They are in both English and Spanish.
One of the plaques along the wayIn each of the different scenes, you’ll find picture opportunities. You can even dress in costume if you’d like. Take your time, because there are plenty of chances to get the perfect shot. Then again, if you don’t want to take pictures, that’s fine too. Earth Illuminated is partially about finding the beauty around you in things that you might otherwise overlook.
Plenty of inspirationThe end of the Earth Illuminated experience is particularly powerful. You’ll find yourself in front of the Affirmation Wall. You’ll be able to read positive thoughts from those who have been through before you, and leave something encouraging for others who are to follow.
Do you call them fireflies or lightning bugs?Many of the structures inside Earth Illuminated are made from recycled materials. Others are recyclable. The owners not only want you to look at the world around you in a different way, they want to help take care of our planet. Earth Illuminated is a family owned and operated attraction, which is so refreshing in these days of big business.
Take your time and relax!Earth Illuminated is located at 9101 International Dr. Suite 2300 Orlando, Florida 32819. It’s on the second story of Pointe Orlando. Street parking in the area can be difficult to find, but there’s a parking garage right there. If you’re hungry while in the area, consider stopping by JoJo’s Shakebar Orlando. They provided awesome ice cream bars for the media night.

The experience would also be perfect for a birthday gathering or special event. I haven’t been able it adequately describe it, so you need to stop by for yourself! It’s kind of like fine art, everyone will see something different. That’s part of the beauty of Earth Illuminated, there’s something for everyone.
