A Few Notes From Star Wars Celebration Europe

Good news about one of my favorite rides!

Star Wars Celebration Europe just wrapped up in London. I wasn’t there, but I did watch a lot of the livestream. Here are a few notes of things that are newsworthy. I’m not going to talk about the trailers and series that are coming, you can find that information on StarWars.com and StarWarsCelebration.com.

I’ll start with a little bit of Disney Parks news from the Disney Parks: Where Star Wars Come to Life panel. It’s been confirmed that new adventures will be added to Star Tours in 2024! This is one of my favorite rides, I’ve been on it over 200 times. I love that there are different characters and worlds, making it next to impossible to get the same sequence twice. Scott Trowbridge, who is one of the creative geniuses behind much of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and other experiences, made the announcement. You can read his thoughts on the entire panel here. We were also promised more characters in Galaxy’s Edge.

There was one bit of entertainment news that I’m excited about; Return of the Jedi is returning to theaters! It will be a limited run, starting on April 28. While I love watching Star Wars at home, there’s nothing quite like seeing it on the big screen. When Return of the Jedi came out I watched it on opening day (after waiting in the rain) with my two high school best friends. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 40 years.

Speaking of movies, three new Star Wars movies are in the works. I mentioned them a couple of days ago, you can read about them here.

Finally, the date and location for the next Star Wars Celebration were announced. We already knew that it wouldn’t be until 2025. We now know the dates and where. It will take place April 18-20, 2025, in Japan. I checked, once again that’s Easter weekend. I guess I won’t be attending that one either!

There was a lot more that happened at Star Wars Celebration Europe than what I’ve written here. These are just a few things that I picked up on while following it from home. It looked like it was a great time, and I had a blast when I attended last year in Anaheim.

May the Force be with you!
