Ten Second Tip: Hurricane Ian and the Disney Wish

As far as I can tell, the only Disney Cruise Line vessel that has made changes because of Hurricane Ian is the Disney Wish. The September 30 sailing has been canceled, and the current trip has been extended by at least one day. They are skipping Castaway Cay because it isn’t safe to dock, and have headed out to safer waters. (Cruise ships can usually go around a storm.) While an extra day or two on the newest ship may sound like paradise, for many it isn’t. I have friends who are on the Disney Wish right now. They said that the anxiety level is high, with people worrying about how they’ll make it home or how Hurricane Ian will affect those who they love. Part of the fun of being on a cruise is the ability to unplug, but at a time like this unplugging isn’t a good thing.
