A Couple of Pieces of Christmas News

This weather has me dreaming of snoap!

It seems as if 2019 is flying by at a record pace. That means that it will be Christmas before we know it! The holidays are my favorite time of year at Walt Disney World, and our current heat wave here in Central Florida has me thinking about shorter days, cooler nights, and snoap. Somehow it feels appropriate that Disney has just released some news about the upcoming holiday season.

No more Holiday Wishes in 2019

The first piece of news is concerning Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We already knew that a new fireworks show is debuting this year for the Halloween Party. The same thing is going to happen during the Christmas Party. It will be called Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. Disney promises that there will be good views across the Magic Kingdom, which means no more crowding onto Main Street, U.S.A. trying to get the best view. It will feature classic holiday songs such as Deck the Halls and Joy to the World. Disney has also promised “an incredible finale you won’t want to miss” (quote taken from Disney Parks Blog). It sounds like it’s going to be fantastic!

Four popular narrators are returning

The other bit of holiday news has to do with Epcot. The Candlelight Processional is an iconic way to celebrate the birth of Jesus. A celebrity narrator tells the Biblical Christmas story, and is joined by an orchestra and a mass choir. Four narrators have been announced. Whoopi Goldberg will return December 6 and 7, Pat Sajak December 16 through 18, Steven Curtis Chapman December 22 through 24, and Edward James Olmos December 25 and 26. All other dates are TBA. The Candlelight Processional runs three times nightly, November 29 through December 30.
