From time to time special ticketed events take place at Walt Disney World. The park in question will be closed to the general public during the event, and only those with tickets will be allowed to attend. There are two special evening events that take place at the Magic Kingdom each year. One is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the other is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. If your vacation will take place when one of the parties is going on, you might want to seriously consider going, because both are a lot of fun.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is of course the second of the two events. Traditionally it takes place on select evenings and runs from 7:00pm until midnight. The schedule for 2018 is found below. Even though the party doesn’t start until 7:00, you can enter with your ticket at 4:00pm.
There are a few things that make Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party special. Guests are encouraged to dress to show their holiday spirit. For some that means red and green, but others take it further than that. If you decide to wear a costume of some type, keep in mind that masks are never allowed, even for children.
Another reason why people love Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the special characters. You will be able to see characters who are not always found in the parks, and others who will be dressed for the holidays. One of the best meet and greets features all seven dwarfs. Characters are marked on the party map, and the lines can grow quite long.
At Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, there are plenty of treats to enjoy. There are cookie stations, your map will tell you what you can find and where. You’ll also find drinks such as hot cocoa and cider. These treats are included with admission, and allergy friendly options are available.
There is plenty of special entertainment at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Anna and Elsa light up Cinderella Castle and get it ready for the holidays in A Frozen Holiday Wish. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration features many of your favorite Disney characters. The characters continue with Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. Holiday Wishes is one of the most beautiful fireworks displays that you will ever see.
Another reason why Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is popular is because the most popular rides are open, and the Wait Times are significantly shorter. FastPass+ is not accepted, which puts everyone on equal footing.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is held rain or shine. If you are going to attend, check the forecast ahead of time because Central Florida can get chilly in the evening during the late fall months. You’ll even see “snow” on Main Street, U.S.A. One other thing to keep in mind, the parties that are closer to Christmas will often sell out, so if that is when you’ll be attending do not put off buying your tickets.
Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are currently available by calling 407-939-1872. They will eventually also be available for sale on the Walt Disney World website.
