The 2026 Holidays at the Disney Resorts

RIP

Not too much solid information was shared about the Disney Resorts by Kati Gauer and Disney Parks Blog. While not officially stated, several reliable sources say that the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House has been retired. There was no Gingerbread House last year because of the construction of The Perch in the lobby. The year before was the 25th Anniversary, so after that celebration I’m not overly surprised that Disney plans to retire it. Supposedly, there will be smaller gingerbread displays around Disney’s Grand Floridian this year, probably similar to what they did with the Easter eggs last spring.

We’ve been promised decorations and extra treats around the resorts this year. But one line from Disney Parks Blog has me a little bit concerned. It states:

For guests staying at the resorts or for those with valid dining reservations, the Disney Resorts Collection offers a wide array of bright and merry holiday decor. (Italics are mine.)

I hope that doesn’t mean that Disney plans to end Resort Hopping for the holidays. Disney has been known to shut down the resorts for those who don’t have reservations on extremely busy days such as New Year’s Eve. Fingers crossed that Disney worded it that way just to ward off potential issues during Christmas Week.

Below is the rest of what was said about the Disney Resorts and the holidays from Disney Parks Blog.
