My Review of the Updated Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (Contains Spoilers)

The outside is the same

Since 1977, Star Wars fans (myself included) have dreamed of flying in the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. In 2019, that dream came true with Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. The ride allows two people to be pilots, two gunners, and two engineers. You’re working for Hondo Ohnaka, who, honestly, is just in it for the money.

It could be worse…

While every ride has been different, based on the skill level of the crew, the scenario has been the same. That all changed on May 2, 2026, when The Mandalorian and Grogu joined the adventure! There are now different scenarios, which is a welcome upgrade.

No one was upsetting a Wookiee

My daughter and I rode on opening day. The posted Wait Time was 65 minutes, but we were off in about 45. It’s a Lightning Lane attraction, and there is also a Single Rider Line.

The new instruction video

There are no major changes in the queue. Some of the dialogue might be different, but I don’t think so. The first real change is when you and your group receive instructions from Hondo. You’re now capturing a bounty, and there’s an appearance in the video from The Mandalorian and Grogu.

This little guy kept distracting me!

Like the original version, your ride depends on the skills of the crew. My daughter and I were gunners. Our mission took us to the Death Star wreckage. It was beautiful.

The end of the mission

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run desperately needed an update, and I think that this is a good one. The hardest part of the ride is that there’s so much that you’ll miss! You can’t see everything. I was the right gunner. Grogu appeared on the screen to my right several times. When watching him, I couldn’t see the front screen. But I’m not complaining. I guess I’ll just have to ride a few more times to see what I missed…
