I’ve talked quite a bit about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but that’s not the only game in town. If you’re going to be in Central Florida, want to hit a theme park, and enjoy a Halloween themed event, there are other choices.
If you’re looking for a family friendly event that is included with theme park admission, try Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld Orlando. It takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, starting on September 22 and running through October 28. There’s trick or treating for the kids (bring your own bag, or purchase one at the park) but that’s not all. There are special characters and a dance party. If it’s done the way that I’ve seen it in the past these things are all in Bayside Stadium and the surrounding area.
The Halloween fun doesn’t stop there. Sesame Street’s Countdown to Halloween is a live show that features the Count (of course) and other Sesame Street friends. Pet’s Ahoy Halloween is a different version of a show that should be on your must-do list. For an additional fee you can make a reservation for Count von Count’s Spooktacular Breakfast.
The decorations for Halloween Spooktacular are a lot of fun. There are plenty of pumpkin fish on hand, and other touches as well. Unlike Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Halloween Spooktacular is geared towards kids, not necessarily the kid in everyone. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t visit without little ones. It’s a popular event for locals, and it will be packed the weekend before Halloween. Costumes are encouraged, especially for the kids. Costume guidelines and more information on Halloween Spooktacular can be found here.
