A hurricane does not need to be headed directly towards Florida to affect your trip. If you’re driving, learn several possible routes if a storm is approaching. You don’t want to drive through an area that is evacuating. You also don’t want to drive through an area right after a storm has passed. Be willing to go way out of your way, or consider postponing your trip.
