Thank Your Amazon Driver

Here at Disney Over 50, I usually talk about the Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line, or something else in Disney entertainment. I’ll sometimes write about non-Disney theme parks, in part because I live in the theme park capital of the world and there’s a lot to say! Today, though, I’m going totally off topic. I wanted to share something with you that can make the holiday season a bit brighter for a hard working individual; at no cost to you.

If you’re like me, you probably order from Amazon more than you care to admit. It’s fast, easy, and often the cheapest deal around! Amazon drivers have extra stress at this time of year, they’re trying to play Santa Claus without the help of elves and reindeer.

Amazon is doing something special for its drivers this holiday season. If you’re happy with your delivery and you have Alexa, just say, “Alexa, thank my driver”. The driver from your most recent delivery will receive a $5 bonus! This is for a limited time, up to one million bonuses. Again, this is at no cost to you. The top five drivers in the country will also receive an extra $10,000, plus a donation of $10,000 will be made to their favorite charities.

If you don’t have Alexa in your home, you can still thank your driver if you have the Amazon app on your phone. You’ll need to have Alexa enabled, then just say, “Alexa, thank my driver”. You can’t type it in, you need to use Alexa. If you’re like me and don’t want Amazon listening to every conversation that you have, turn off the mic after Alexa gives you her reply.

In my neighborhood, it’s the same gentleman who delivers for Amazon most of the time. He’s very friendly, doesn’t park in the middle of the street, and always leaves my package in a safe location. I’m glad that there’s a way that I can make this stressful holiday season a little bit brighter for him.
