It’s currently the Rainy Season here in Central Florida. I live just a few miles from Walt Disney World, so what happens at my house is usually the same thing that is happening at Disney. What a season it’s been so far!
The Rainy Season is known for producing afternoon storms. The winds pick up, the temperature drops quickly, and then the rain hits! The afternoon storms are accompanied by thunder and lightning. Then, as quickly as the storm rolled in, it rolls out again.
That hasn’t been the case the past few days. The storms have rolled in the same as normal, but they haven’t rolled out in 15 minutes. The rain, thunder, and lightning have been around for hours! It’s storming as I write this, a storm that started almost three hours ago. A couple of times it felt like it was going to end, but then it picked up steam again.
I’m not a meteorologist. I don’t know if the longer storms will continue, or if we’ll return to the 15 minutes of rain again. I’m telling you this so that you can be prepared if you’re headed to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, or other Central Florida attractions. Check the forecast and then pack your rain gear and your patience. The storm will pass, outdoor rides will open again, and the evening just might be beautiful. You could even see a rainbow!
