Star Wars Celebration Scam Warnings

From Star Wars Celebration in 2022

The next Star Wars Celebration will take place April 1-4, 2027, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Tickets went on sale on May 6, and they were completely sold out within hours. That leads to a couple of warnings.

People were allowed to purchase up to 20 tickets, or four Jedi Master VIP. The VIP tickets sold out almost immediately, as expected. The four day tickets were gone quickly as well. I was in the queue for less than an hour and had to buy four one day tickets because the others were gone. There are already people who are trying to resell four day tickets for thousands of dollars. This is strictly prohibited. According to the official website:

Celebration tickets are non-refundable, non-resalable and cannot be reproduced or upgraded.

If you buy tickets from a reseller, there is a chance that you’ll end up with nothing except for a hole in your bank account.

The last time Star Wars Celebration was held in the United States (2022) there was an official company for reselling. People could sell tickets to them, and then they sold to those who needed them. That company has since gone out of business. There’s no word on whether or not Star Wars Celebration will offer a similar service for 2027. If I hear anything, I’ll let you know.

The other warning that I have is about “official” Star Wars Celebration merchandise. When checking out, you could add merch to your cart, but it hasn’t been available anywhere else. I’ve already seen “official” merch for sale online, and the sellers claim that they can send it immediately. Don’t trust them. Most likely, these sellers have lifted the images off of the Star Wars Celebration website and have created cheap copies. You have no idea what the quality will be.
