The 2023 Holidays Outside of Walt Disney World: SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration

Sea of Trees

Walt Disney World is one of the best places to visit during the holidays, but it isn’t the only game in town. There are many other glorious ways to celebrate the season! One holiday event that my family and I always visit is SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration. That’s the perfect name for it, because it truly allows guests to celebrate.

While some aspects of SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration take place during the day, it’s after dark that SeaWorld shines, literally. Over three million lights sparkle and glow through the park. It’s not covered with lights like the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights used to be. Instead, it’s trees, garlands, and other decorations.

My favorite part of SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration is the Sea of Trees. There are over 300 trees in the water, and every few minutes they will “dance” to the music. There’s one large tree in the middle, and it joins in on the fun. Don’t worry if the trees aren’t dancing when you walk by, it will happen again soon. Even if the lights are not changing you will love the Sea of Trees. It’s beautiful.

Live entertainment is part of the fun. Winter Wonderland on Ice is an ice skating show that combines remarkable skating feats with humor. Mrs. Claus hosts a cooking show. O Wondrous Night tells the Christmas story from a different perspective. Elmo’s Christmas Wish Show features some of your favorite Sesame Street characters. You can see more characters during the Sesame Street Christmas Parade. You won’t want to leave before SeaWorld closes, because the evening ends with Holiday Reflections: Fireworks Finale.

One of my favorite seasonal character meet and greets is part of SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration. You can meet Rudolph! The line gets long the closer you get to Christmas, so if you can visit early in the season you might want to do so. Santa is also on hand to take pictures and gift requests. There are two character meals; Sesame Street Breakfast at SeaFire Grill and Dinner with Santa. You’ll want a reservation for either one.

There’s public skating during the day. The cost includes skate rentals. At night you’ll find “snow” flurries along the waterfront.

SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration runs on select nights through January 2. There are special fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

These are a few of the highlights of SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration. It is included with your SeaWorld admission. Buy your tickets online to save! You’ll have a great time.
