Edge Escape Room in Kissimmee

While most of my focus here at Disney Over 50 is Walt Disney World, I like to also share finds outside of the theme parks. Today I am thrilled to let you in on a brand new experience in Kissimmee, Florida. It’s called Edge Escape Room, and it’s the perfect way to enjoy some time outside of the Disney Bubble.

We were hoping for victory!

On Monday, October 30, my daughter and I were invited to grab a couple of friends and give Edge Escape Room a try. I am not going to give away any clues or share what we accomplished. Instead, I do want you to know that we had an incredible time. It was a lot of fun. Everything is well thought out, from the pictures on the walls to the music to the actual game.

The door is locked!

Edge Escape Room is different than other escape rooms that you may have visited. With those, you’re locked in a room and look for clues to get out. At Edge Escape Room, you’re part of a story. There are still clues, but you must put them together to solve the mystery, or in our case, save the magical world.

Is there a clue here?

There are currently three different experiences at Edge Escape Room. Save the Magic School is the easiest of the three, and since we were all novices that’s the one that we chose. I’ll tell you this much. A curse has been put on a magic school, and since we weren’t students it was up to us to get the curse lifted. The middle room challenge-wise is Wonderland. The hardest of the three is The Society of Adventurers & Explorers. A fourth room, Jewel Thief, is in the works.

Do those symbols mean something?

You don’t have to worry about getting stuck and your time running out at Edge Escape Room. Just wave your hands and the Game Master will provide you with clues. You’ll still need to use your brains, even with the clues, but the ultimate goal is for you to finish the game successfully.

Gotta have a dragon picture at a magic school!

If you have kids in your party, this is the perfect first escape experience for them. There is no climbing to find clues, nothing is out of reach. There are lights and sounds that make it exciting, and there are interactive features throughout. Everything is family friendly, and the kids will love helping to solve the riddles.

The details are perfect!

You don’t have to worry that you’ll be paired with a know-it-all who can’t believe that you missed a clue. That’s because your party will be just your party at Edge Escape Room. A group as small as two can book the experience and you’ll have it all to yourselves.

You need wands for magic…

No matter which room you book, you’ll have an hour for the actual escape. Plan to arrive about ten minutes early. Everyone in your party will need to sign waivers. You can do this ahead of time if you book online, if not, they’re available once you arrive. Edge Escape Room is currently open Monday through Friday from 3:00 until 10:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 until 10:00.

Clues are all around!

I’d like to thank Jason for hosting us, and Dani for being such a fantastic Game Master. Learn more information here, or visit the Edge Escape Room Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube channels. The address is 3253 Rolling Oaks Boulevard. Kissimmee, Florida, 34787. It’s about ten minutes from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and near Sunset Walk and Margaritaville.

There’s even a phoenix!

Plan on stopping by the next time you’re in Central Florida. After all, vacation is supposed to be about “escaping” from reality! At Edge Escape Room, you will do just that, literally!
