Hurricane Idalia and Epcot

Always beautiful, even in a storm!

Central Florida escaped the worst of Hurricane Idalia, but we still were hit with bands from the storm. I decided to visit Epcot on the morning of August 30, just to see what was going on and to check out the crowd levels. Even though I had my poncho and rain shoes, I still got soaked. I stayed until around noon, when the rain and winds started to calm down and the crowd was picking up. I have a feeling that the theme parks will be quite a bit busier later in the day.

I’d like to thank all the Cast Members who threw on their rain gear and worked to make magic. It is miserable to stand in the rain and wind, but I saw lots of smiles and everyone was polite. They can make magic, even on a miserable day.

I’m going to add some of the pictures that I took below so that you can see what it was like. I’ll also add pictures to both Facebook and Instagram, so follow along! Hurricane Idalia isn’t done yet, so if you’re in the path of the storm please be careful and take extra precautions. Like my mom always said, it’s better to be safe than to be sorry.
