A major change is coming to Disney Genie+. Starting on June 27, you will be able to purchase the service as either a single-park option or a multi-park. The following announcement is found on the Walt Disney World website:

Beginning June 27, Guests at Walt Disney World Resort will now purchase Disney Genie+ service based on how they want to visit. Guests will be able to select either a single-park option or a multiple-parks option, subject to availability. With this update, prices may now be lower at some Walt Disney World theme parks compared to others.

This is great news for people who don’t plan to spend a day in just one park. If I was planning to head only to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, for example, under the old way I wouldn’t purchase Disney Genie+, because they’re aren’t all that many options. This could make a difference in my way of thinking.

If you plan to Park Hop and want Disney Genie+, purchase the multi-park option. I’m sure that it will be cheaper that way than to purchase single-park for two parks. I don’t even know if it would be possible to purchase two single-day parks for one day. My Disney Experience does tend to get glitchy.

I haven’t seen the official prices yet, and the price will most likely fluctuate. Magic Kingdom will undoubtedly cost the most each day because that’s the park with the most Disney Genie+ attractions.

This really sounds like it will be a change for the better. Here’s hoping that it is.
