My Disney New Year’s Resolutions

Share
Here’s to another year of magic!

With 2023 here many people are talking about New Year’s Resolutions. I have a few that I’d like to mention to you because they’re Disney related. These aren’t resolutions that should be too hard to follow.

My first Disney resolution is to go out of my way to be nice to Cast Members. Don’t get me wrong, I always try to be, but there are times when I could take it just a little bit further. I know all too well that no one knows what someone else is going through. I also know how hard it can be to plaster a smile on my face when my life is falling apart. Even when I encounter a Cast Member who is less than magical, I’m going to try to be nice. It won’t cost me anything, but it could make a huge difference in the life of that Cast Member.

My second Disney resolution is similar. I’m going to keep my cool and be polite to the other guests. People have been growing ruder and ruder over the past couple of years, and I’m not going to be part of that problem. Even if someone is rude to me, I’m not going to reciprocate. I also won’t brood about whatever happened. It makes no sense to let someone else ruin my day.

I’m going to try to complain less for my third resolution. Disney is expensive and crowded. I know that before I even leave home. Complaining about prices or lines will not change either one! Instead, if something is too expensive, I just won’t buy it. If a line is too long, I’ll ride something else. It should be as simple as that.

My fourth Disney resolution is that I want to try new things. It could be a dish that I’ve never ordered before, a streetmosphere show that I never took the time to watch, or an attraction that I have never explored the queue for. I want to wander the grounds at the various resorts and look for hidden gems that make them unique. I would like to try some of the experiences that are on my bucket list. Who knows, maybe this will be the year that I sign up for the Keys to the Kingdom Tour! I’ve wanted to do that for years but just haven’t. Maybe I will in 2023.

My final resolution is simple. I want to better appreciate the magic that is found at the most magical place on Earth. I know that a lot of people say that the magic is gone, but I don’t agree. Still, I don’t always appreciate it. I want to be thankful this year for where I live and where I visit. I love Disney, and I need to remember what a difference it has made in my life.

Happy New Year, my friends. May 2023 bring you good health, happiness, and magic.
