Central Florida’s theme parks

Central Florida is expected to receive a hit from Tropical Storm (or Hurricane) Nicole, starting late Wednesday, November 9, and into Thursday, November 10. I’m going to make a list of confirmed closures and openings for the area attractions. I’ll update this list as I can, but use the links provided and check one more time before heading out.

Walt Disney World: Walt Disney World will begin a phased early closing on November 9, and it is unlikely that the theme parks will open at the regular time (if at all) on November 10. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed on Thursday, November 10. The miniature golf courses will be closed as well. You can read the entire statement here.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex: Closed on both Wednesday, November 9 and Thursday, November 10. KSC plans to reopen on Friday, November 11, as long as there is no damage.

Universal Orlando Resort: Universal’s Volcano Bay will remain closed on Wednesday, November 9. The other two parks and CityWalk will close at 5:00 PM. A delayed opening on November 10 is expected.

SeaWorld Orlando: Will be closed on Thursday, November 10.

Legoland Florida Resort: T theme park will be open noon-6:00 on Thursday, November 10, the water park will be closed.

Peppa Pig Theme Park: Will be open noon-5:00 on Thursday, November 10.

Busch Gardens Tampa: Will be closed on Thursday, November 10.

Aquatica Orlando: Will be closed on Wednesday, November 9 and Thursday, November 10. Both Adventure Island and Island H2O water parks were already closed on November 9 and 10.

Orlando International Airport: Directly from the website, “Commercial operations will cease at 4:00pm on Wednesday, November 9. Please contact your airline regarding details for specific flights.” There’s no word on when operations will resume.

Sanford Orlando International Airport: The airport will close at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9. Travelers are advised to contact their airlines for information, and are reminded that the airport is not a shelter. There’s no word on when operations will resume.
