A Quick Rundown of the 2022 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Goofy is celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary!

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is underway! It runs daily through July 4, and is included with your park admission. A Disney Park Pass Reservation is required. I was there on opening day, and I will be back often! Here is a quick rundown of what you can expect.

Passport

You’ll need a Passport for Garden Graze

Pick up a Passport when you arrive, because it is your guide to the festival. You can access the information in the My Disney Experience App, but it’s easier to not have to keep pulling out your phone. You will also need to have the physical Passport stamped for Garden Graze.

Topiaries

Snow White and Dopey…

There are dozens of topiaries this year! Some of them are expanded, such as Snow White and Dopey on the left of a path in Germany, while the other six dwarfs are on the right. (You’ll see what I mean when you go.) The topiary locations are printed in your Passport and also on the My Disney Experience App, so you won’t miss any.

…and the rest of her friends

Outdoor Kitchens

Citrus Bossom has returned

There is a great combination of both new and returning favorites. The menus are in your Passport and the MDE App, and they are also clearly marked outside of each booth. Lines were very long for the first day, so I’ll be back to sample next week. Epcot Farmers Feast has seasonal menus.

Gardens

One of the new gardens

There are a couple of new gardens this year; Blossoms of Fragrance and France Bouquet Garden. Don’t walk by, you just might learn something.

Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration

Spike!

Spike the Bee is back for his annual scavenger hunt. I like this one because Spike is hiding in the gardens, so he gives you another reason to explore them. Scavenger hunts are not just for kids. The cost is $9.99, but you can look for Spike for free if you don’t care about getting a prize. A second scavenger hunt, Egg-Stravaganza, will run near Easter.

Bambi’s Butterfly House

Bambi’s Butterfly House

The Butterfly House is not sponsored this year. Instead, it now features Bambi’s name. I love returning throughout the festival to see how many butterflies there are! Hours are limited, so head that way in the middle of the day.

Garden Rocks

Skillzmatic has kicked things off

The Garden Rocks Concert Series is back! You can see the full list of artists here. It looks like nationally known artists perform Fridays through Mondays, while it’s local artists Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. That isn’t an official announcement, just an observation. Concerts take place at 5:30, 6:45, and 8:00. The Garden Rocks Dining Packages are not available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Merchandise

There are five collections this year; Mickey alone, Mickey with Minnie, Spike the Bee, Orange Bird, and Figment. I didn’t get a close look because Epcot was packed. I’ll get pictures when I go back and share them on the Disney Over 50 Facebook and Instagram pages.

Spaceship Earth After Dark

Spaceship Earth with a new theme

A new theme is part of Epcot’s Beacons of Magic. For the Flower & Garden Festival it is based on Pocahontas, and features the song Colors of the Wind. I added a video of it on both Facebook and Instagram.

Mickey and Minnie hope to see you there!

These are the basics of this year’s Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. I’ll be adding plenty of information between now and July 4. This is my favorite festival, and even though it will last for four months it will be gone in the blink of an eye.
