A Quick Rundown of Disney Very Merriest After Hours

There will be fireworks!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party isn’t returning this year. Instead, we’ll have Disney Very Merriest After Hours. Here is what we know so far about this special ticketed event.

Since it is Disney After Hours, there will be a limited number of tickets sold. They will be available next month, I’ll let you know when we have a date. Like Disney After Hours Boo Bash, resort guests will be allowed to purchase tickets before the general public.

The first Very Merriest will take place on November 8, and it will run on select nights through December 21. It will start at 9:00 and end at 1:00 the next morning. That means it’s four hours instead of three. If you have a ticket, you’ll be able to enter the Magic Kingdom at 7:00 that evening.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show will take place! This wonderful show debuted in 2019, and it is a lot of fun. That probably means that Disney Enchantment will not take place on Very Merriest nights, so if you’re visiting during the holiday season you might want to plan accordingly.

There will not be a parade during Disney Very Merriest After Hours. There will be “character sightings”, which is what we’ve been doing for the past year. I hope that means cavalcades as well as characters throughout the park, but we’ll see. There will also be special PhotoPass opportunities.

I know that many people will be sad that there will be no Castle Dream Lights for a second year. The projections on Cinderella Castle will return. I’m not complaining, I love the projections as well. It will also “snow” on Main Street, U.S.A.

Since it is a Disney After Hours event, there will be goodies included in the cost. You can enjoy unlimited popcorn, ice cream novelties, and bottled drinks. Cookies and hot cocoa are not mentioned. There will be other treats available for sale.

Those are the basics of Disney Very Merriest After Hours. I’ll miss Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party as much as the next person, but I’m willing to give this a chance. It sounds like it will be a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
