MagicBands are not going away There is a lot of confusion right now about MagicBands, so I thought I’d mention it quickly. No, Walt Disney World is not getting rid of MagicBands. They are just offering guests other alternatives. Yes, you do now have to pay for them if you are staying on property or are renewing your Annual Pass. If either of those is your case, you can see the options on My Disney Experience. You don’t need a MagicBand, but in my opinion they’re much more convenient than pulling out your phone all the time. If you have an old one it should still work. The exception to that could be battery life and ride photos. I’ll have a tip on that tomorrow.
