Don’t miss this!!!

There has been a lot of talk lately about the future of Epcot. We’ve seen conceptual drawings of what things are going to look like after the transformation is finished. Walt Disney World has taken things one step further, and you can now truly stand in the middle of the future. It’s called The Epcot Experience, and I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Just two of the 40 or so posters that depict Epcot

The Epcot Experience is located in the Odyssey Events Pavilion. That’s the strange looking building that is off to the side, over a couple of bridges, as you approach the Mexico side of World Showcase. You can also see it from the Test Track exit. It’s easy to walk past the Odyssey Events Pavilion and not even notice it. Take my advice, don’t do it, you do not want to skip this one.

One of four photo spots

Once you are inside, there are two parts that you need to see. The first is in the perimeter of the building’s interior. Walk around and you will see posters that depict past, present, and future attractions. There is a really impressive mural that is hard to get a good picture of. There are four different photo spots where you can put yourself into a future attraction. All of this is a lot of fun, but you have yet to experience the highlight.

The model isn’t close to being accurate to scale…

In the center of the building there is a circular room. When you enter, you will immediately notice a model of Epcot in the middle of the room. The model is not to scale, and Spaceship Earth sits right in the middle and above everything else. While the model is impressive, things get even more exciting once the lights go down. The Epcot Experience features a 12 minute film that will surround you. The model becomes part of the show, with projections and special lighting. You will learn little bits and pieces about the future of Epcot, but there are no spoilers. You’ll also get to see Baby Groot, which makes it even better.

Baby Groot!

I loved The Epcot Experience, so much so that I watched the film three times. I am planning on going back soon. The construction walls when you enter Epcot are a bit depressing at the moment, but this makes me think instead about what is happening behind those walls. The Epcot Experience runs daily from park open until close. Even though a closing date has not been announced, I am sure that it is temporary. Do not miss this one. Words cannot describe how cool it is.
