September 30

It’s almost time to say goodbye to a classic

It feels like it was just a few days ago that I told you about some limited time offerings that were coming to Walt Disney World. When I said that they would be here until September 30, it felt like plenty of time! Well, September 30 is suddenly just around the corner. Here are some of the things that we are about to say goodbye to.

Magic Kingdom

Happy Almost 91st Birthday Mickey and Minnie!

This is your last chance to see Mickey and Minnie together in Town Square Theater, dressed in their birthday outfits. I guess it’s time to stop celebrating their 90th birthday, especially since 91 is not far away. Since Minnie normally greets back in Pete’s Silly Sideshow, there’s a good bet that she will move back on October 1, and that Pluto the Wonder Pup will stop greeting there. Then again, the meet and greet with Pluto is still listed on the Walt Disney World website for October 1, so he might stay there for a while.

Epcot

You will be missed

Do I even need to say it? September 30 is the last day for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Epcot Forever will debut on October 1, so Epcot will not be without a fireworks show.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

They need to go pack!

Back in January the Incredibles moved into Pixar Place. Well, it looks like their lease is up. They need to be out by 6:31 on September 30. Mike and Sulley were originally supposed to leave Walt Disney Presents the same day, but it looks like they were granted an extension. They have times listed on the Walt Disney World website through November 2. (That’s the last date that times are listed for any character, it does not mean that it’s Mike and Sulley’s last day.) The homepage for Disney’s Hollywood Studios still has the meet and greet ending on September 30, I’m sure someone will fix that soon.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Dance parties are always a fun extra

Mickey and Minnie weren’t the only ones celebrating milestones at Walt Disney World. This is also the 25th Anniversary of The Lion King. One of the ways to celebrate is with the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party. This is a great way for the little ones to burn off energy. The last day of the dance party is, you guessed it, September 30. Don’t be surprised if the other touches based on The Lion King disappear around the same time.
