Disney’s Hollywood Studios is about to celebrate a milestone anniversary, and of course there are plans to celebrate. It’s hard to believe that on May 1, 1989 Disney-MGM Studios opened to the public! This is my favorite park, and I can’t wait to be part of the anniversary celebration.
On May 1, a new nighttime show will officially debut. It will be called Wonderful World of Animation. It is going to be a projection show, and it will cover 90 years of Disney animation. Each projection show at Walt Disney World is impressive, and this will no doubt be just as remarkable. Wonderful World of Animation will not be replacing Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. Although not announced, it most likely is replacing Disney Movie Magic.
There will most likely be special food and drink offerings to celebrate the anniversary. There will probably be limited time merchandise as well. When more details are released, I will let you know.
While you are at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to celebrate, make sure you stop by Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. You might also want to take a peak at the Galaxy’s Edge progress. There is a good viewing area towards the end of Toy Story Land. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is changing, and I for one can’t wait to see what the future holds!
