Easter Services at Walt Disney World

The 2017 Sunrise Service at SeaWorld Orlando

The Easter season is a popular time to visit Walt Disney World. Many school systems plan their Spring Breaks around the holiday, meaning that parents do not have to take their children out of school for vacation. Some offices are closed at the same time as well. Easter falls before the summer heat and humidity arrive, but it’s warm enough to swim. The daily summer storms have also not yet arrived most Easters. This makes it a great time of year to visit Walt Disney World.

If you’re at Walt Disney World and want to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday without leaving property, there are a couple of choices. There are two Catholic Masses and one interdenominational service that are held each Easter at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Masses are held at 8:00am and at 10:30am, while the other service takes place at 9:15am. They are held in the Fantasia Ballroom.

Parking at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is only for guests and those who have dining reservations. This is strictly enforced on Easter morning. Your best bet would be to park at the Transportation & Ticket Center and then take the monorail to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Give yourself plenty of time.

If leaving property is not a problem, SeaWorld Orlando holds an annual interdenominational Easter Sunrise Service in conjunction with local radio station Z88.3. This beautiful service takes place at the park’s Bayside Stadium. For 2018 worship will be led by Orlando’s own Blanca, and Tim Timmons will deliver the message. The service and parking for it are free. Doors open at 5:30am, and the service starts at 6:30am.
