My Walk Around Disney’s Hollywood Studios

A porg, a tauntaun, and disinfecting wipes

One of the main questions that people have here when it comes to Coronavirus is what is being done at Walt Disney World to keep people safe. Today (March 12) I decided to go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see things for myself. I had no intention of riding anything, I just wanted to see what measures were being taken.

Just search hand sanitizer on the app

I’ll start with the My Disney Experience App. If you’re looking to use hand sanitizer, you can now find locations on the app. There were more places that had hand sanitizer than those that are found on the app, so keep your eyes open.

This one was at the front of the park

Speaking of hand sanitizer, I did not come across any containers that were empty. There were also tables with bottles of hand sanitizer on them, but those bottles all seemed low. I did not ride anything, but I did not see any hand sanitizing stations near the exits of the rides. The best bet is still to bring your own with you if you are able. That way, you can use it after you have touched anything.

On the way to Galaxy’s Edge

There are also hand washing stations throughout the park. I counted five, but there may be more. I saw one near Muppet*Vision 3D on the way to Galaxy’s Edge, one in Toy Story Land near Woody’s Lunchbox, two near the Disney Junior meet and greets, and one by the tables in the Sunset Ranch area. Speaking of that station, a dad was letting his son play on it while people were waiting to use it. Not cool, dad.

There were plenty of these signs

There were also signs near the major restaurants. These were to remind people what they need to do to stay healthy. These things are common sense, but that doesn’t mean that the reminder isn’t a good idea.

The park was packed

Disney’s Hollywood Studios was packed today. I wondered what things would be like in Galaxy’s Edge, since that’s supposed to make you feel as if you’re on the planet of Batuu. I did not see any stations there. That doesn’t mean there weren’t any, I just didn’t see them. I did notice that there were bottles of hand sanitizer and also disinfectant wipes near some of the cash registers.

Hand sanitizer in Galaxy’s Edge

I don’t know what is going to happen. Disneyland is closing in California, and I do not know if Walt Disney World will be next. After walking around Disney’s Hollywood Studios today I did see plenty of ways that guests can be cautious. There are some simple things that we all can do to slow down the spread of this disease. I just hope that everyone takes this seriously. If you’re reading this, please stay safe.

Don’t let your kids climb on these!
