You guys know that I like to talk about rumors from time to time. It’s fun to think about the future. The D23 Expo is quickly approaching, which means that there will be all kinds of rumors about what theme park announcements will be made.
One announcement that will not be made is that the Enchanted Tiki Room is going to close and be replaced by a Moana based attraction. Disney Parks Blog has addressed this rumor directly. In their words:
A little birdie told us there are some rumors flying around about our beloved Tiki birds at Walt Disney World Resort. We’re sorry that our fans are being fed incorrect information by unscrupulous sources. While “toucan” play at that game, we deal in facts here at the Disney Parks Blog. Although we won’t address every rumor, we want to set the record straight: there are no plans for our feathered friends to fly the coop any time soon. We’re constantly evolving our stories, but these birds will continue entertaining our guests at the Magic Kingdom Park just as they have done since 1971.
As I already said, we are going to hear lots of rumors the next few weeks. Many will be false, while some could come true. I will pass along any relevant or interesting information when I hear it. Until then just keep singing, “in the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki room…”
