Walt Disney World is cracking down on parking at Disney Springs, but that doesn’t mean that Resort Hopping is a thing of the past. Just park at one of the Walt Disney World theme parks, and take Disney Transportation from there!
If you park at the Transportation & Ticket Center, you can take the Monorail Loop. From there, you can easily catch the Resort Monorail. It’s to the left of the Express Monorail, which stops only at the Magic Kingdom.
The Resort Monorail stops at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The order of the stops depends on which way the Monorail is running. Hop off, explore the resort, and then just catch the Monorail again. It’s that simple. When you’re done, take the Monorail back to the Transportation & Ticket Center.
You will need to go through security each time you get on the Monorail. That has nothing to do with any of the transportation rules. It’s been like that for years.
There might be times when Disney restricts visiting resorts without a reservation due to capacity. This is especially true when there are special fireworks, such as July 4th and New Year’s Eve. The rest of the year, though, you can ride the Monorail to the resorts to your heart’s content. If this ever changes, I’ll let you know on Disney Over 50.
