Give Kids the World is one of my favorite charitable organizations. When Wish Kids come to Central Florida, many of them will stay at Give Kids the World Village. It is an attraction in and of its own right. There is always something to do! There are rides, games, dance parties, movies, a pool with a pirate ship, and so much more. They hold both Halloween and Christmas each week, since some children won’t have another one. Kids can have ice cream for breakfast, and every effort is made to give the children the best week of their lives.
Give Kids the World Village isn’t just about the Wish Kids. They cater to the whole family. That is what Olivia’s Oasis is all about. It’s a brand new spa to give the parents a few minutes to relax and take care of themselves. I was invited to attend the grand opening, and it’s impressive!
Olivia’s Oasis is named after Olivia Wampler, a beautiful young woman who died in 2021 at the age of 17. Her mom, Angie, was at the opening. Angie sets up spas for a living, and was the perfect fit for helping turn Olivia’s Oasis into a reality.
With Olivia’s Oasis, there are four rooms that contain SolaJet® tables. These tables provide a deep tissue massage that lasts ten minutes. The massage uses a Dry-Hydrotherapy system. The user is in charge of the process, and can decide if he or she wants a full body massage, or if certain areas should be highlighted. The controls allow you to add or decrease the pressure, speed, and direction. It’s a bit on the loud side, so noise-canceling headphones are provided. The light in the room is kept low. I had the opportunity to try it, it’s very relaxing! Each table is sanitized after it’s been used.
Another relaxing part of Olivia’s Oasis is the aroma. I spoke with a volunteer, she said that there are several different scents. She also said that they will make sure that no one has an allergy to any fragrance used. If they do, they won’t use that scent. Sound is a part of the experience as well.
Olivia’s Oasis is a beautiful new space, and it was an honor to attend the opening. There are several new projects in the works at Give Kids the World Village, and I look forward to sharing more! If you’re looking for an incredible cause to donate money or time to, consider Give Kids the World. You’ll be part of making wishes come true and allowing critically ill children to just be kids for a few days.
