Ten Second Tip: Star Wars Launch Bay, Part Three

In one of the displays at Star Wars Launch Bay, past the characters, there’s a fun piece of The Empire Strikes Back history. You might notice an ice cream maker. While filming the scene where the residents of Cloud City are hurrying to leave, one extra wasn’t carrying anything. That didn’t make sense to George Lucas, so he grabbed an ice cream maker and had him carry that. (You can see it for yourself around 1:47:50 in the movie.) That ice cream maker has taken on a life of its own! Not only can you see the replica in Star Wars Launch Bay, but you can purchase one at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Galaxy’s Edge. It’s now called a camtono, and it’s a personal safe. There’s even a camtono in The Book of Boba Fett. Who ever thought that an ice cream maker could become so important!
