Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is fun for the whole family. There’s extra entertainment, characters, and plenty of candy! There are two problems, though, especially if you have little ones. You’ll have to stay up late for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, since it doesn’t even start until after the Magic Kingdom closes for the day. It’s hard for a lot of kids to make it to the end! The other problem is the cost, especially if you plan to go near Halloween. Depending on the date, tickets in October can cost up to $179 per person. That adds up quickly. There is another local event that isn’t scary that could fit more easily into your budget.
I’m talking about SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular. This is an event that is designed more for the kids up to age 12 than for kids and kids at heart like you’ll find at the Magic Kingdom. That doesn’t mean that you can’t go without children, I’ve been several times. The atmosphere and the decorations alone are worth the time! I really like the pumpkinfish.
Guests of all ages can dress up in costume. Kids 12 and under are also allowed to wear costume masks and hoods, but anyone 13 and older is not allowed. Trick or treating is also only for the kids. You can buy a bag for candy or bring your own. The characters are sea-related. You don’t have to be a kid to get character pictures, I’ve had characters encourage me to come over. There could also be extra entertainment.
The best part of all is that SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular is included with your SeaWorld Orlando admission! It begins at 10:00, and runs throughout the day. The first date will be September 17, and will take place on Saturdays and Sundays through October 2. Starting on October 7, SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular will expand to Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through the end of the month. It will also take place on Halloween. If you’re visiting from out of town in October, I’d recommend trying to make it on a Friday, because Saturdays and Sundays are popular with the locals.
Always check online to see what the current ticket deals are if you plan to visit SeaWorld Orlando. There is usually a deal going on. You can often add All-Day Dining, which will help you to save even more. If you live in Florida, consider buying a Fun Card. You might want to combine your SeaWorld ticket with Aquatica or Busch Gardens for even more savings. You can see the current ticket offers here.
There is one thing to keep in mind if visiting SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular with impressionable children. SeaWorld Orlando has a separate ticketed Halloween event called Howl-O-Scream that is on select evenings. It is not not-so-scary, so there could be some creepy images in the park. Keep your eyes open so that you can divert the kids’ attention if need be.
