Disney Parks Blog recently shared a ton of information on what we can expect at Walt Disney World in 2026. I thought that it might be helpful to break some of that information down into smaller, more specific segments. Here’s what we know about the reopening of two Magic Kingdom classic attractions.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed in January, 2025. Quite frankly, the Magic Kingdom hasn’t felt the same without it. We don’t yet have an exact reopening date, but we have a season. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reopen in the spring! I’m looking forward to the update, especially the Rainbow Caverns. I hope there are Annual Passholder Previews.

Another ride that will reopen this coming spring is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. There will be a new character, enhanced blasters, and more. Again, the exact reopening date for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin hasn’t been announced. I’ll keep you posted here at Disney Over 50 as soon as I hear more. I’ll also add the information on both Facebook and Instagram.
