The 2022 Holidays Outside of Walt Disney World: Busch Gardens Tampa

Christmas Town!!!

Walt Disney World is one of the best places to visit during the holidays, but it isn’t the only game in town. There are many other glorious ways to celebrate the season! If you don’t mind traveling an hour or so (depending on traffic), consider visiting Busch Gardens Tampa for Christmas Town. It runs through January 9, and is included with your theme park admission.

Lights as you enter

If it’s lights that you’re looking for, Christmas Town is must-do. There are millions of them! What is nice is that each land has a different theme for the lights and decorations, so you’ll see something different around every corner.

More lights

One of my favorite parts of Christmas Town is the Holly Jolly Express. The Serengeti Express changes to a Christmas train! There’s music, and it feels like a Christmas party. The line for the Holly Jolly Express tends to grow long, so you might want to ride early.

Three Kings Journey

There are special shows for Christmas Town. Christmas on Ice is a skating show. Storytime With Mrs. Claus is sure to please the little ones in your party. Holiday in the Sky Fireworks Show takes place on select nights. You can also watch Three Kings Journey or Elmo’s Christmas Wish. Christmas with the Celts will run December 16-18 and 23-25. Wizards of Winter will all but wrap things up January 6-8.

Rudolph!

Fans of a certain red-nosed classic will want to visit Rudolph’s Winter Wonderland. You’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into the story! You can also meet Rudolph’s boss in Santa’s North Pole Experience.

Entrance to Christmas Town Village

If you’re looking for a unique gift, Christmas Town has you covered. Christmas Town Village features booths from local artisans. There are also special holiday sweets and treats for sale. Buy a lanyard so that you can sample as many as you’d like!

Tunnel of dancing lights

Buy your Busch Gardens tickets online to find the best deal. Plan to make a day of it. You can enjoy the rides and animals during the day, and then the lights and shows after dark. What a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit!

Other holiday events to consider outside of Walt Disney World include Celebration, Florida, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration, and Night of a Million Lights.
