It hasn’t been around since 2019, and I know that a lot of people (myself included) are excited. Tickets are selling quickly, with several dates already sold out. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party isn’t cheap. A lot of people, especially those who have never attended, are wondering if this special event is worth the cost. There is not an easy answer to that one!
Many people expect Mickey’s Parties to be similar to a Disney After Hours event, with crowds so small that you’ll feel like you have the Magic Kingdom to yourself. That isn’t the case at all. I attended the opening night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year, and it was packed. It wasn’t Christmas Day crowded, or even a random Wednesday in July crowded, but it also wasn’t empty. We still had a great time, and I plan to return next year.
When deciding whether you want to shell out at least $149 per person for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (most dates are more), you need to look at what is offered. You can enter the Magic Kingdom starting at 4:00, so you’ll have three hours before the party starts. There’s extra entertainment, including one of my favorite fireworks displays ever at Walt Disney World. There are special characters, all dressed up for Christmas. Wait Times for most rides tend to be shorter. There are several dance parties. You’ll find party exclusive merchandise and foods. There’s even snoap on Main Street, U.S.A.! These are just the highlights.
Then again, you won’t be able to do it all. You’ll have to decide which parts are important to you, and which you can skip. For example, I love character pictures, but I usually skip them at the parties. I just don’t want to wait in those lines!
You’ll find people who say that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is not worth the price. You’ll find others who attend several parties each year because they love the event so much. If you’re trying to decide and have never been, look over all the information on the official website. That’s the best way to decide whether or not Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is worth the cost. For me it is, but only once a season. It’s a fun splurge.
