Update: Disney Parks Blog is denying that Country Bears Jamboree is about to close!
Walt Disney World is always changing. New attractions are in development, and other attractions will eventually close. As I’ve said here before, I try to supply you with solid information. If something is a rumor I might share it, but I will let you know that it has not been confirmed.
Expect the rumor mill to be working overtime the next few weeks. The bi-annual D23 Expo is coming up August 23 through 25 in Anaheim. It’s the official convention for all things Disney. There is always a Disney Parks Panel, and that is where some major announcements will be made. Four years ago a Star Wars Land was announced, and in 2017 it was given the name Galaxy’s Edge. We’ve learned about roller coasters, restaurants, resorts, and so much more during the past Disney Parks Panels. With this being the last D23 Expo before the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2021, we can expect some major announcements this year.
With the D23 Expo quickly approaching, a lot of people are speculating what will be announced this time. One rumor that I have seen several times is that Country Bear Jamboree is going to be replaced with a Toy Story themed show. It would be based on Woody’s Roundup. I guess we’ll find out in August.
There were plenty of rumors in 2017. Some of them became fact, like the closing of The Great Movie Ride for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Ellen’s Energy Adventure for the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster. Some weren’t even close to being true, like two new countries being added to World Showcase.
We already know that at the upcoming D23 Expo there will be some announcements regarding Epcot. Aside from that, I have no idea what to expect. It’s fun to speculate what is going to happen. Don’t be surprised if I add some of the rumors here. They will be clearly marked as such.
