This has been a great week for me as far as Toy Story Land is concerned. On Monday, I was Disney’s guest for Disney Early Morning Magic. Today, my daughter and I attended Passholder Playtime. I may be a bit sleep deprived at the moment, but it was worth it.
Before Pandora – The World of Avatar opened, there were several opportunities for Passholders to get a sneak peek at the new land. We were given a link in an email, and from there we could sign up for a session. It was incredible. We were able to enjoy Pandora with few people around. Many Passholders were hoping for something similar for Toy Story Land, but that didn’t happen. Instead, we were offered Passholder Play Time.
Instead of visiting the new land before it opened to the public, Passholder Play Time offered the upper levels of Passholders a chance to visit after the summer crowds were gone. We received an email, picked a time, and we were set. The events started earlier this month, and they take place on select mornings before the park opens to the public.
The event this morning was great. Even though all three rides were open, almost everyone headed directly to Slinky Dog Dash. Disney gave guests one FastPass for the ride for the event, but it wasn’t needed. The event began at 7:00, and we were off of the ride by 7:08. There was a Wait Time of ten minutes posted, but there was never any wait. We got to see the sunrise while on Slinky Dog, that’s something that I won’t soon forget.
Tricia and I rode Slinky Dog Dash five times. We also rode Alien Swirling Saucers without waiting. We decided to skip Toy Story Mania!, since that has become an easy ride to get FastPass+ for. (How things have changed!) We also decided to take advantage of the short lines for character pictures. Woody’s Lunch Box was open, but we didn’t order anything.
I appreciate all that Disney has been doing lately to give extras to Passholders. We attended the V.I.Passholder Night at Epcot a couple of weeks ago, and now we had this. It’s nice to see the parks when there aren’t crowds. Since some FastPass+ selections are hard to get as a local, I was thrilled to have this opportunity.
