Don’t let lovebugs “bug” you too much. Lovebugs are a harmless annoyance that show up a couple of times a year in Florida. They tend to swarm, so if you see them you’ll most likely see a lot of them. Lovebugs are not a science experiment gone wrong like some people think. Apparently they have a bitter taste, which is why birds leave them alone. Lovebugs show up usually at some point in May and then again in September, and sometimes in January if the temperatures are warm.
