The Atlanta Braves have started their final spring training season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Pitchers and catchers reported on February 15, and the first game of the pre-season will take place on February 25. That will be against the Washington Nationals.
There will be 16 home games at Champion Stadium. The final spring training game will take place on March 23. Their opponent for that game will be the New York Mets. If you’ll be in the area and want to catch a game, you can find the schedule here. Ticket prices can be found there as well. If you aren’t in town but still want to hear what’s going on, the games will be broadcast live on the Braves Radio Network.
This is the 22nd season that the Braves have called Walt Disney World home for spring training. In 2020 the team will instead report to North Port, FL. That’s 100 or so miles away. It’s going to be sad to see them go.
