Walt Disney World has extended the temporary closure of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. This is due to cooler than normal temperatures in Central Florida. The closure has been extended through Friday, January 16. As I write this, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to be open from 10:00 until 5:00 on Saturday, January 17. Looking at the extended forecast, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon could still be closed several days past that. Disney typically keeps the water parks closed if the temperature is not expected to reach 70 degrees.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for its annual refurbishment. It’s scheduled to reopen on February 15. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will begin its annual refurbishment the same day.
