There have been a lot of fifth park rumors floating around lately. I thought that this would be a good time to remind you to take any and all rumors with a grain of salt.
Could Walt Disney World be planning a fifth park? Sure, it’s possible. They have the land for it, and there have been permits filed that will allow them to build more if they so choose.
That said, there are a lot of projects going on right now. We have two new areas announced for the Magic Kingdom, two new lands for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and two more additions to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With all this expansion within the current parks, it seems unlikely to me that a fifth park is in the planning stages.
Destination D23 at the end of August will give us updates on the future of the Walt Disney World theme parks. If a fifth park is planned, it will most likely be announced during the parks panel. Until then, though, don’t get your hopes up too high. I doubt that we’ll hear anything about a fifth park right now, especially with so many other projects in the works.
