My (Mostly) Spoiler-Free Review of Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After

Picture opportunity at the area’s entrance

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The show is a dream come true for Disney villain fans. I went on opening day to both Disney Villains and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure. Here’s my review, which may contain some mild spoilers, but nothing that will ruin the show.

The theater

I’ll start with the location, because Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is a bit hard to find if you don’t know where to look. Head towards Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and go to the right of the line. Keep going, and you’ll find the new show. It’s where Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy used to be.

The audience is being watched…

Since I stopped by on opening day the area was packed. Cast Members were trying their best to keep people together for the queue, and letting them know which show they were queueing for. I arrived at maybe 11:45 and watched the 12:30 show. In the middle of the day there’s a show every half hour, but that could change. Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After runs about 20 minutes.

Cruella

One warning about the wait. A few umbrellas have been placed in the area for shade, but they did next to nothing. It was 92 degrees with a heat index over 100, and the sun was shining brightly. Bring water, and please, listen to your body.

Captain Hook

Now, onto the show! The theater features “mirrors” around the stage, and before the show you might see some familiar eyes. The show itself is “hosted” by Magic Mirror, who is complaining about villains who have broken through and now want his help determining who is the “most misunderstood of all”. That’s all I’m giving you about the plot.

Maleficent

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is a mix of live action and screens. There are times when you’ll wonder if someone is an actor or if it’s prerecorded! And I’ll say this, the live actors are excellent! They put their all into their performances.

Jafar

I really enjoyed Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. It has catchy songs, moments of humor, and lots of familiar faces. I look forward to seeing it again, but that will be after the crowds die down a bit. It’s a great addition to the live entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I think you’ll love it.
