Destination D23 and Ticket Resellers

I know people are disappointed…

Destination D23 will take place August 29-31 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Tickets went on sale on April 14, and they sold out in less than an hour. I’ve already seen resellers pop up, trying to make a profit, but buying that way is not a good idea. Here’s why.

Tickets to Destination D23 are linked to a D23 Gold Member and his or her guest. The names were needed to check out. If buying from a reseller, your name will not be on the tickets. I don’t know if IDs and Membership Cards will be checked or not, but it’s not worth risking it. You don’t want to pay a high price, only to be turned away.

The Destination D23 confirmation email clearly states that tickets are not transferable. I don’t know if there would be a penalty for trying to resell tickets, but I assume that at the very least you could have your D23 Gold Membership revoked. The following is taken directly from the confirmation email:

D23 Gold Members attending must bring their photo ID, Gold Membership Card and event tickets or they will not be admitted to the event. Membership card may be a physical card or a digital membership card found in the Disney D23 app.

And:

Any ticketed Members or their guests who do not personally attend the event, forfeit their place, as well as all experiences, benefits, and gifts associated with the event. D23 Members must be present or guests will not gain admittance to the event.

All D23 events are subject to change without notice. All ticket sales are final. There are strictly no cancellations or refunds regardless of reason (including, without limitation, due to illness, change in travel plans, etc.) and tickets are not transferable.

If you have tickets and realize that you aren’t going to use them, I’d advise contacting D23. Email GuestRelations [at] D23 [dot] com or call 855-323-5973. Someone will let you know what your options are. I’ve had to contact D23 in the past and the representative was very helpful. She truly went above and beyond for me.

One final thing. Please do not try to buy or sell Destination D23 tickets on the Disney Over 50 Facebook or Instagram pages. I’ve already had one person try to resell tickets, just an hour after they sold out. Selling anything on these pages without my permission is prohibited. Thank you for understanding.
