World Celebration Is Complete

Mural in the Mickey & Friends queue

CommuniCore Plaza is open at Epcot. That means that the walls are down and World Celebration is complete! I stopped by on opening day, June 10. Here’s what I found.

Mickey!

One of the main reasons to visit CommuniCore Plaza is the Mickey & Friends meet and greet. The friends are Minnie and Goofy. There is one line, and you’ll go through and take pictures with the characters one by one. The wait is outdoors, but the characters are inside, in the AC. The mural on the wall for the outdoor queue is amazing. The walls inside are pretty cool as well. Mickey & Friends is a Disney Genie+ attraction.

¡Celebración Encanto!

CommuniCore Plaza Stage is currently home to ¡Celebración Encanto!. It’s an Encanto based sing along, with the words on a screen over the stage. The cast is great, and plenty of people were singing along. There’s also audience participation. A word of warning, it’s a seatless theater, and for the show that I was at most of the audience was in the sun.

Festival Favorites

Festival Favorites is a food kiosk that’s like the ones you’ll see at Epcot’s four festivals. Currently it serves cheese and chicken and cheese arepas, as well as beverages. The menu wasn’t posted outside. A Cast Member told me that she thinks the menu will stay the same throughout this summer, and then change, based on the festival. That isn’t official, since Cast Members aren’t always told the whole story and things can change.

Inside CommuniCore Hall

CommuniCore Hall is a large indoor space with seats and tables. There were plenty of people enjoying their arepas in the AC. I’m not sure what Walt Disney World has planned for the festivals. It’s a nice space, but to me it looked too small for seminars or classes.

They’re there when you need them!

One more important bit of information for CommuniCore Plaza. It has large restrooms. The women’s room is very orange.

Goofy!

That’s my rundown on CommuniCore Plaza. It’s a nice area, and I’m sure it will be pretty after dark. And it has a great meet and greet. I really enjoy the World Celebration area, and it’s nice that it’s now complete.

Minnie always looks beautiful
