For the past couple of years, the Florida Blue Medicare Lounge has given guests at Epcot a chance to cool off and relax during part of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. This year there’s even more to it.
The Florida Blue Medicare Lounge debuted I believe in 2021 (don’t quote me). It was originally in Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, which at the time hadn’t reopened. Last year it moved to Restaurant Marrakesh, which is where you’ll find it this year. It opened on September 1.
It’s free to visit the Florida Blue Medicare Lounge, which is why it’s part of my Sunday Savings Series, but there is a catch. You need to have a Guest Pass and show it when you arrive. Don’t worry, the Guest Pass is also free, and it’s easier than ever to get one.
The simplest way to obtain your pass is to open the My Disney Experience App. Type “Florida Blue” into the search feature, and then pick “Florida Blue Medicare Lounge presented by Florida Blue Medicare”. At the bottom, you’ll see “Learn more about how to access Florida Blue Lounge”. Pick that. You’ll have to leave the app, so next choose “Go To Web”. Just fill out the form and submit. Don’t worry that you’ll then be hounded by Florida Blue, they haven’t contacted me once. You’ll then have your pass! You can also find the form here, but you have to have a copy of the pass with you.
When you arrive at Restaurant Marrakesh, show your pass to the Cast Member. You only need to fill out the form once the whole season (I took a screenshot of mine) and you only need one pass for your entire family or party. The Cast Member will turn people away if they don’t have a pass, and I’ve never heard a CM explain to guests how they can get one. I’ve seen plenty of people turned away.
Inside, you can enjoy a cool beverage and a place to sit for a little while. The theme is “sip”, “swirl”, and “sculpt”. I’ll start with “sip”. you can choose from ice water, a couple of bottled juices, tea, and cold brew coffee. It’s all free.
There are two new additions this year. The first is free henna tattoos, which is “swirl”. There are several hand tattoos to choose from. There was a line when I was there, so if you visit with kids either give yourself extra time or steer them away from this area.
The second new addition is “sculpt”, and this is already quite popular. You can make a mosaic tile to take home! You’ll pick your tiles and place them in quick-drying plaster. About 15 minutes or so later, your unique tile is ready. This also was very popular when I was there.
Everything inside the Florida Blue Medicare Lounge is free, and you can stay as long as you want. It opened on September 1, and is open daily from noon until 6:00 until the end of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. It’s nice to have a place to get out of the heat or hide from the rain for a little while.
