Disney Park Pass Rumors

There are rumors about both coasts!

There are a lot of rumors floating around right now about the end of Disney Park Pass Reservations. There’s one in particular that states that reservations will no longer be required at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland, starting on January 9, 2023. I’m not saying that the rumor isn’t true, but with something like this, if you didn’t hear it directly from a Disney source, don’t believe it.

What I’ve been told about the January 9 rumor is that it was posted on a Disney Twitter account, but taken down almost immediately. I don’t know if that’s true or not, I didn’t see it myself. Even if it is, it could have been something that someone posted by accident, just fooling around. Who among us hasn’t sent a joke text to the wrong person? I know I have! This could have been something similar.

If and when Disney does decide to drop the Disney Park Pass Reservation System, there will be an announcement. It will be everywhere! Don’t trust fan sites (even Disney Over 50 is a fan site, I have never worked for Disney) that don’t include a link to an official Disney source. If reservations are stopped, I’ll let you know and include the link. Other reputable sites will do the same.

There’s one important thing to remember. Just because a site has the word “Disney” in its name does not mean that it is owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company. Most of the sites aren’t. You can trust the Walt Disney World website (even though there are occasional mistakes), the Disneyland website, Disney Parks Blog, and the official Disney social media accounts. There are some great fan sites out there that will give you accurate information, but others just want clicks and page views. If a site can’t tell you reliably where they got the information, assume it’s a rumor.
