There is no arguing that bullying is a real problem in this day and age. It is even worse because of social media. I’ve experienced it myself. I had someone threaten to kill me on Facebook because I gave an opinion on a post. Even on the Disney Over 50 Facebook page there have been bullies and trolls, who get a sadistic high from picking on other people. If you see such a person and I haven’t blocked him or her, please let me know. But I digress.

I’m an adult, I can emotionally handle a bully, at least most of the time. Kids are a different story. Often it’s the kids with the biggest hearts who get picked on the most, and they don’t know how to just shrug it off. That is what the Pop Culture Hero Coalition is all about. It uses Star Wars, Marvel, and other larger than life heroic stories to bring healing.

I’m not going to try to explain what it is all about. Instead, here is the link to the website. On the site you can learn about the organization and ways that you can become involved. There is also some merchandise for sale, most of which simply states “Be Kind”. It’s sad that so many people need a reminder for basic human decency.
