If you’ve followed Disney Over 50 for a while you know how excited I am about the return of Main Street Electrical Parade! While I wish it would come back to Walt Disney World, it’s great that it will return to Disneyland, where it was born. This is my favorite parade ever. I saw it on my first trip to Disneyland when I was a child. It was only a few months old at that time!
Main Street Electrical Parade will be back at Disneyland on April 22. I’m headed out that way for Star Wars Celebration next month, and my daughter and I are flying in a couple of days early so that we can see the parade and enjoy the parks. I am excited about the new merchandise that will be available. Here is the information on merch and more, from Disney Parks Blog.

Celebrate the Return of the ‘Main Street Electrical Parade’ with Themed Merchandise and a Dining Package
by Becca Goldenberg, Communications Specialist, Disney Parks Experiences and Products
Ever since we announced that the Disneyland Resort is bringing back its nighttime spectaculars, I’ve been anxiously awaiting April 22, when the “Main Street Electrical Parade” and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular will return to Disneyland park, and “World of Color” will return to Disney California Adventure park. As we all look forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the “Main Street Electrical Parade,” check out the new merchandise, coming soon to Disneyland Resort and shopDisney, and a dining package that will light up your world!
If you’re not sure what to wear while you welcome back this beloved spectacular, look no further. The “Main Street Electrical Parade” all-over print T-shirt with glow ink and “Main Street Electrical Parade” leggings will completely immerse you in this fan-favorite offering. They incorporate a fresh take on the original designs of the parade floats, so when you’re sporting these, the glowing lights of the floats may not be the only things turning heads!
With a celebration as exciting as this one, you’ve got to have the perfect pair of ears, right? The “Main Street Electrical Parade” ear headband will be my go-to accessory, and this split seam T-shirt with all-over print and solid contrast is downright electrifying! They’ll make you feel like you’re part of the show, whether you’re in the park or at home.
You’ll want to have your hands free to clap along to the music that will accompany the new grand finale sequence, so this “Main Street Electrical Parade” mini backpack by Loungefly is perfect for holding all your park essentials.
When you slip into this “Main Street Electrical Parade” dress with glow-in-the-dark accents, your night is about to get a whole lot more “lit!” It features classic Pete’s dragon Elliott and is perfectly complemented by a sash that salutes the 50th anniversary of this timeless classic.
At Plaza Inn in Disneyland park, you can savor a scrumptious lunch with a dining package that comes with a meal, beverage, dessert, and entrance to a reserved viewing area for the “Main Street Electrical Parade,” which will include an exciting new finale for which you’ll want a stellar seat. Experiencing the thousands of sparkling lights and musical sounds as the floats go by will be even sweeter after enjoying some world-famous Plaza Inn fried chicken, house-made mac and cheese, Mickey-shaped sweet honey cornbread, and a decadent berry cheesecake. Reservations for the “Main Street Electrical Parade” dining package will open no earlier than April 14.
As I mentioned, this electrifying new merchandise is coming soon to Disneyland Resort and shopDisney, so stay tuned! How jazzed are you for the April 22 return of the “Main Street Electrical Parade”?
There’s even more excitement on the way soon, including a nighttime spectacular foodie guide, so check back to the Disney Parks Blog. With just about two weeks to go, get ready to “ignite the night” once again!
